1905 Queen Model E Touring
In 1902, Carl H. Blomstrom produced a single-cylinder car that he called the Blomstrom. The single-cylinder engine with a 5.5-inch stroke and a 6-inch stroke could produce eight horsepower. About 24 examples were made during their introductory year. By 1903, Blomstrom had created and patented a two-cylinder contra-indicated engine.
In 1904, S. N. Blomstrom Motor Car Company was officially established. The name of their two-passenger car was changed to Queen.
At the end of 1906, the Blomstrom company merged with the DeLuxe Motor Car Company. By August 1909, with less than 100 "De Luxes" built, the company and all its assets were sold to Everett-Metzger-Glanders.
During the life of the Queen car, starting from 1906 to 1920, almost 1500 examples were created.
Fewer than fifteen examples of the Model E are believed to have been produced, with only one still in existence. The 1905 Queen's sale began in the fall of 1904. Between 1903 and 1907, around 2,000 Queen models are believed to have been produced.
This example was shown at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, and may have been built in 1904, making it eligible for the London to Brighton run.
