1912 Crow-Elkhart Model 52 Five-Passenger Touring

The 1912 Crow-Elkhart Model 52 Tourer shared its four-cylinder, 26 horsepower engine and 114 inch wheelbase frame with the Model 51 Roadster, Model 53 Runabout, and Model 54 tourer. They were modestly priced at $1,000 - $1250. Along with the attractive price, Crow-Elkhart also built vehicles on various platforms, in several different body styles, and powered by a range of engines. The shortest 1912 Crow-Elkhart was the Model 50 Roadster which had a 20 horsepower engine and 110-inch wheelbase. The larger in the line-up was the Model 58, 59, and 60 which had a 32 horsepower engine and 122-inch wheelbase.

During 1912, Crow-Elkhart produced 1,883 vehicles, a slight increase from the 1911 inaugural year of production of 1,850. The peak of production was in 1917 when 3,732 examples were produced. The final year of production, 1923, a mere 236 examples were built.

This particular example is a Model 52 powered by a four-cylinder engine and fitted to a three-speed transmission.
