1932 Austro-Daimler 635 Armbruster Sport Bergmeister Cabriolet

1932 Austro-Daimler 635 Armbruster Sport Bergmeister Cabriolet

This 'Bergmeister' was clothed by Armbruster with a spectacular cabriolet body. Austro-Daimler used the car as the factory demonstrator and showed it at many of the period's concours d'elegance. Today the Armbruster Sport Cabrioet is part of Wolfgang Porsche's private collection. He had the car completely restored by Egon Zweimüller in Austria. More than 10,000 man-hours were spent to bring the rare Austro-Daimler back to its former glory.

The ADR was ready in the summer of 2011 and first shown at that year's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. Sharing a class with the later 'Best of Show' winner, the Austrian machine had to settle for second. It subsequently also received the Classic Car Club of America Trophy awarded to the most significant car present on the field. From December 2011, the exquisite 'Bergmeister' it’s displayed at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart.
