1933 Mercedes-Benz 380 K Erdmann & Rossi

1933 Mercedes-Benz 380 K Erdmann & Rossi Spezial Roadster

This unique 380 K was commissioned from Berlin coachbuilder Ermann & Rossi by Prinz Max zu Schaumberg-Lippe, who was a descendant of Katherina the Great. An accomplished racing driver, the prince intended to compete with the car, so it was fitted with a minimalistic body. Among the special features of the car were twin spare wheels and an enlarged fuel tank. Schaumberg-Lippe used the car to won the four-liter class in the Deutschland 2000 km race. During the 1990s, it was restored to its 1934 specification and following a spell in the United States, it is today part of a German collection.
