1934 Rolls-Royce Phantom II Continental Drophead Coupe Coachwork by Freestone & Webb

This 1934 Rolls-Royce Phantom II Continental was ordered by A. Sainsbury Esq. of Sainsbury's. It was ordered with the rear high-speed Continental chassis, specifically built for 'town work and touring' in the 'UK and Continent'. It has a short Continental wheelbase, two-door body, and a fully opening top. The car was dispatched on June 12, 1934, and delivered the following day to Freestone & Webb, the London based coachbuilder. The car was completed and delivered in June of 1934.

This Phantom II is finished in two-tone paint with deep blue for the upper bonnet and running boards. The body and rear cowl are done in silver grey, and the interior is done in light grey. There is a grey retractable top with small glass windows in the rear. The engine is a 7,668cc overhead valve six-cylinder unit with a single carburetor and offering 120 horsepower. There is a four-speed manual transmission and four-wheel Servo-assisted drum brakes.
