1939 Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B Lungo Touring Berlinetta

1939 Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B Lungo Touring Berlinetta

Believed to have been delivered new in Italy, the first concrete information about this, the second Touring Berlinetta, is that it arrived in Great Britain in 1939. It was offered by dealer Jack Bartlett with 5,000 miles on the odometer and shortly after the war, it was again in Bartlett's custody. During the early 1950s, it was acquired by Lord Ridley, who had additional quarter windows fitted to improve rearward visibility. Lord Ridley's stable was formidable and also included another 8C 2900 and early 8C and 6C Alfa Romeos. From his estate, the car passed to Nigel Mann, who in turn sold it to the current, Dutch owner in 1976. In his, now 40-year ownership, he has cherished the car and has only rarely been seen in public. At one such occasion, it was displayed by Fine Automobiles at Retromobile in 2016.
