1952 Allard K2.

History was made for both man and machine in November of 1952 when Carroll Shelby drove a Cad-Allard to victory in an early Sports Car Club of America road racing event near Caddo Mills, Texas. Allards were light weight, British built aluminum bodies and chassis that were powered by American drive trains from Ford, Chrysler and Cadillac. This combination proved strong enough to beat both Ferrari and Jaguar at the track. Allard would receive worldwide recognition for its racing achievements in the early 1950's with podium finishes at Le Mans.
Starting with several boxes of parts and a body in need of serious reconditioning, this particular 1952 Allard K2 has received a complete no expense spared body-off restoration. Every detail received complete and meticulous attention from the amazing restoration or the motor and wiring, to the Brooklands styled aeroscreens.
While it has been restored, the body is all original with the exception of the brand new, period-correct wire wheels. The soft yellow paint is complemented by the steel blue leather interior. The color combination is striking and elegant, as is the beautifully engine turned dash. The styling details pay homage to its British heritage, but the extended wheelbase and proportions suggest that this is no ordinary British sports car. Once the engine is firing, the straight side pipes let everyone know about the great double four barrel Cadillac power plant that resides under its bonnet with zero miles on the odometer.
We are proud to offer this exceptional piece of automotive history to you as we are now in the process of restoring a 1950 Allard J2.
