1900 Bertrand Voiturette Type C
The Bertrand cars were manufactured from 1899 or 1900 till 1902 by Bertrand & Cie in Paris. There are different information available concerning the name of the company. "MM. Bertrand et Cie" or "C. Bertrand et Cie" are used in various articles. Most content says that Bertrand et Cie was located 150 Avenue Malakoff in Paris. But our car was built at 198 Boulevard Pereire.
The smallest model was a 3.5/4.5 H.P, also called the 4 H.P. car. This car was equipped with a De Dion engine. The strongest model used a 6 H.P. Aster engine. Both models were belt-driven. Open bodies for 2 or 4 passengers were available. The 6 H.P. model won 1901 the Moscow - Sankt Petersburg race in its class.
