1933 Pierce-Arrow Silver Arrow

1933 Pierce-Arrow Silver Arrow

Used for the East Coast shows, including both Boston and New York, this is the very first Silver Arrow produced. Interestingly, it was originally not finished in silver but instead in a two-tone tan. Following its show duties, it was acquired by M.C. Hudson, who was San Francisco's distributor of 'Crazy Water', which was a health-giving mineral water bottled in Texas in 1881. Hudson applied Crazy Water stickers to the Silver Arrow to promote his business. During the 1950s, it was acquired by F. Robert Greene, who was one of the founders of the Pierce Arrow Society. By the 1970s and re-painted silver, it was publicly displayed and also starred in a movie with Clark Gable. During the following decade, it waspart of the Blackhawk Collection along with the two other surviving Silver Arrows. The current custodian acquired the car from the Blackhawk Collection in 1996 and has since sparingly showed it at several shows.
