1937 Aston Martin 15/98 MKII Short Chassis Drophead Coupe

1937 Aston Martin 15/98 MKII Short Chassis Drophead Coupe by E.D. Abbott

This particular example wears a Drophead Coupe by E.D. Abbott on a short chassis. It has a fixed windscreen, roll-up windows, a fixed convertible top that folds onto the rear panel, and a fully upholstered 'dicky' seat.

This car was given two road tests, the first at 53 miles and the second at 509 miles. It has been cared for by at least seven recorded owners. It has a known history during the war years and beyond. The current caretaker acquired the car in 1993 and treated the car to a concours-quality restoration. The documented, no-expense-spared restoration was completed over a five-year period. Upon completion, it was shown at the 1998 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, where it was awarded with 2nd in Class.
